Gender and Economic Development Initiatives

DYANZ prioritises the economic empowerment of young women with disabilities, who face multiple layers of discrimination. We ensure at least 60% female participation in all our livelihood programmes, leadership training, and entrepreneurship bootcamps. Our initiatives include targeted mentorship circles where women with disabilities are paired with successful female entrepreneurs; access to seed capital and business development support, and advocacy for gender-responsive policies within government and private sector programmes. We also create safe, accessible spaces where women with disabilities can share experiences, build confidence, and lead economic activities in their communities. Through these efforts, we are building a generation of women with disabilities who are economically independent, visible, and influential in Zimbabwe's development.
We measure success by the number of young women with disabilities who establish sustainable businesses, achieve financial independence, and take on leadership roles within their communities and the economy.
